Calverley Golf Club Captain 2019

Dear Fellow Members, Families, Friends & Visitors to Calverley Golf Club.

It is a great honour to be your Club Captain and something I am very proud of, thanks to Lee Dane as my Captain for selecting me, and I now wish him all the best as President of Calverley Golf Club.

I joined Calverley Golf Club in 2009, with several others from Phoenix Park, so this year marks my 10th Anniversary here at Calverley, made even more special now taking over as Captain.

During that time, I’ve seen a number of changes to the club and to the membership. I have made lots of new friends and enjoy the camaraderie that creates such a good social atmosphere within the club, both after a round of golf, at social evenings and on our “special away days”.

I want to start this year with a strong desire to build on all that is good about Calverley Golf Club, the members, their families and friends, working together with our main committee and section committees, we will act on members’ suggestions and concerns in a more positive manner.

I want us to work together “face to face” deal with what we can, when we can, and keep you informed of progress, especially if we are unable to always do anything about it.

Looking forward very much to working with my Vice Captain Barry Lamb and the Committee, who give their time so freely into the smooth running of our Club.

May I also wish the best of luck to our section captains this year; Derek Windsor – Senior’s Captain, Phill Dyson – Rabbits Captain and Kiernan Kennedy – Junior Captain.

It makes me proud to say that my Captain’s Charity this year will be the Take Heart at LGI. Any support this year will be greatly appreciated and I hope that you will continue to be as generous as in previous years.

Finally, may I wish everyone at Calverley Golf Club a healthy and prosperous year ahead and I hope that 2019 will be full of good spirit, friendship and good golf.
